"Bock" the baby

OH baby it's cold outside!!!

This morning Lucy kept grabbing my hand and pulling me to the recliner and she wanted to "bock (rock) the baby!"  She wanted me to sit and hold her while she held her baby and "bock!"

Poor Landon didn't feel good today...he had a double ear infection.  :(

The boys played all morning but Trey slept through it all....he was a sleepyhead this morning!

The boys pretended to go "night night!"

Lucy and Ax had book time this morning and sat there quiet for about 20 minutes!

Look closely...Ax's book was upside down!

This pic is horrible quality because it was taken with Jay's phone last night but as we were putting K and B to bed upstairs, Lucy was carrying around these two things.  Jay took a pic with his phone and put it on his facebook "That's my girl...a Bible in one hand and a gun in the other!"

We went up to the church tonight to clean because it was our small group's week.  We then came home, ate dinner, took baths and then I found the girls putting head bands on.  Lucy just wants to be like her sissy!

Lucy was pointing to her "sone" (phone) one of her favorite things these days!

Haha then daddy got sucked into "bocking" her baby.

Today I saw this on facebook and I almost posted it on mine but thought I would SERIOUSLY have some UPSET grandparents (Lolli).  And I just couldn't do it to her.  But this is what it said....

"is EXPECTING!! I know, I know, it's crazy isn't it? I can't believe it myself. I wasn't going to put it on here because it's obvious but wanted to make it official. I mean who would have guessed that we are expecting!! Yup it's official. We are expecting *SNOW* Thursday nite and AGAIN Friday!! **Re-post if you have any sense of humor!!**"

For real....I hear that we are getting snow tomorrow and I am kinda excited!  We haven't had any in a couple of weeks and I am kinda jealous of those that had inch-ES this week.  Bring it on!

Random Wednesday

We want to wish my sister-in-law a very happy birthday today!  We love you Tiffany and hope Matt spoils ya...looking forward to seeing yall on Friday!

Karis wore this jacket last week I think and her teacher assistant mentioned that her daughter had the skirt to match and she was going to look for it.  Well apparently she found it because it was in Karis' bag when she came home from school yesterday so Karis was DETERMINED to wear it today.  She couldn't wait for Mrs. Amy to see it!  It so so sweet of her to think of Karis!  I wanted to take her picture in it and so she was just standing there so I told her to put her hands on her hips.  Then she started modeling for us...we were laughing so hard.  She looked so cute.

Lulu is acting older and older every day...she is acting like a 2 year old and in just 3 short months now my baby will be 2!  She is becoming more and more like her sister although she has some of Brayden's spunk haha!  She is having conversations with us and understands when we give her commands.  SHe is talking all the time and when we give her instructions, she says "K!" and quickly obeys.  She goes up and down the stairs as she pleases to play with K and B and tells me when she wants something.  We are loving this stage she is in right now!

As of late, Brayden has been trying to teach me to wink.  NO, I can't wink and have never been able to.  Call me dysfunctional but I can't snap with my right hand or whistle either if we are being honest!  It melts my heart when he comes into a room and winks at me.  :)

I am officially addicted to some foods and I am eating them literally every day for lunch.  Mine and Lucy's new favorites are these....raw bite size butternut squash.

As a stay at home/working mom sometimes to be honest I don't ever "sit" down to eat lunch.  Sometimes I even forget to eat (not that often I am afraid) or I end up snacking as I am feeding the 5 children I am responsible for.  I have really tried to be more diligent about sitting down to eat and eating a healthy lunch instead of "just whatever" happens to be lying around.  Lately, I have been making turkey sandwiches on whole wheat tortillas.  I have been loading them up with these peperoncini peppers, any color bell peppers, a little bit of cheese, mustard and my new favorite....purple onion.  I love the taste of them and sorry if you have to be around me after I eat them haha!  They all have so much flavor.  Lucy and I both love bell peppers and eat them like an apple.  Between the two of us we eat at least one a day.  I toast it with a little olive oil in a pan so it is crunchy on the outside and it is delicious!

Some of you probably already follow Kate McRae's story on Caringbridge.org but she has recently beat cancer and just had some devastating news yesterday and my heart breaks for them.  Kate is in in Kindergarten just like Karis and I can't imagine how hard it must be on the rollercoaster of emotions they are on.  You can read about her mom's (Holly) updates here.

When it rains, it rains some more!

Although a part of me wishes we were getting the snow blizzard the rest of the country is getting, I am thankful at the same time.  Instead, it rained and rained and rained today and then it rained some more.  It wasn't really storms per se, but just a constant rain and my yard was flooded for most of the day...

So we stayed warm inside.  I wasn't in my pj's although I would have liked to have been, but my houseshoes stayed on and we stayed comfy on the couch when we could.

During naps I was able to catch up some DVR from last night...the Bachelor.  I just want to say that I think Emily is the most beautiful and classy girl I have ever seen.  If he doesn't pick her, he is CRAZY!  None of the other girls even come close to her (she is the blond in the middle)!  I cried through her whole segment at the race track...she handled it so well despite how hard it must have been for her.

I am going through several different things in my quiet times these days and am learning so much through them.  In my personal quiet time I am going through Romans and 30 days to Spiritual Breakthroughs...it's a great book.  I am also going through a Romans study with my small group on Sunday nights and Share Jesus Without Fear on Wednesday nights.

This afternoon the wind starting blowing really hard and our electricity went out.  So we hung out in the quiet silence (wasn't bad for a change although it would get old for long periods of time).  We lit the candles and enjoyed it for a while.

Me and Lulu cuddled on the couch before everyone else woke up.  She is such a cuddler when she first gets up from her nap and I love it.

Karis got home from school and we had snack and I gave the kids some of my Dove Promises that Pap and Roxy sent me.  I LOVE dark chocolate it is my fav!  Everyone has chocolate teeth, mouth,  and face.

Lucy was saving some for later haha!

Love this...need to remember to do more of it.

At dinner our electricity was still out so we headed into town to meet Jay and get some dinner and go grocery shopping.  I figured I might as well since we couldn't cook or do anything else at home in the dark.   I had intended to spend a quiet night at home (Tuesday nights are usually our only night everyone is home) but the weather changed our plans.  So we went to Chick-fil-a for dinner, let the kids play some and then Jay brought Lulu home for bed and Karis and Brayden and I went grocery shopping.  I was glad to have it over with and very glad our electricity was back on by the time we got home. :)

What a difference a year makes!

These pics are from February 2010...what a difference a year makes!
(Karis was 5, Brayden was 3 and Lucy 9 months)

Haha this one makes me laugh out loud!

And some things never change!!! haha
