They did it! They survived their first year of public school since the return from Turkey1 It was a hard year to say the least but very rewarding and we have seen them all grow exponentially!
Lucy wanted to run in Running of the Rams 5K on her birthday. Brayden ran too and placed in his age group!
This was a first ever 5K for both of them and they both finished strong! Brayden even came away with a 24:54 time, 26th overall and 2nd in his age group. So proud of these two!
Brayden participated in his 6th grade field day today and did really well. I hate I couldn't be there but thankful for these pics that friends sent me!
Brayden participated in the Hot Shot Contest in School and came in 1st place for his grade! I wish I could have seen it!
Brayden got selected to be a part of E-day for his school where he got to go to the University of Memphis for the day and his team got 2nd place overall. He loves all things STEM and was proud of this!
Karis' 8th grade and Brayden's 6th grade fall formal was a success! They loved going with their friends and being a part of such a big dance! Karis looked beautiful and Brayden looked so handsome!
Lucy and Brayden got the chance to be a part of the Faith Musical this year and Lucy was also a part of the children's choir. It was a joy to watch them be a part of it!
I had a blast being a part of Oak's Elf float in the Bartlett Christmas parade. I did some of the lettering and we got to walk in the parade which was a first!
It is always so much fun and brings back so many memories when we pull out the ornaments to decorate the tree. I love to reminisce and make memories with the family!
Each year we let everybody get a new ornament that represents that year for them somehow. I chose a globe because we went to Ghana, Brayden chose Fortnite, Lucy chose a shoe for new clothes when transitioning to public school, Karis chose a crown for the year she was on Homecoming Court, and Jay chose an angel.
For our church's Fall Festival this year, Lucy dressed up as a baby, Karis was a unicorn and Brayden a fortnite character. It was fun to get to see them with their friends this year and sadly seeing them grow up! I don't know how many more years they will want to dress up!
And after the church Harvest Festival, we went to the Baldridges' house to trick or treat with them and hang out with friends!
And these are pics from the youth Dress up party at the skating rink!
I always love watching Brayden play soccer and this year was no exception. There was alot of rain this year which caused alot of rained out games but we enjoyed the games we did get to see! He played great and still loves the game!
This was the kids first experience with See You at the Pole. It was priceless to see them pray with their friends for their school. It brings back so many memories of when I used to lead them at my middle and high school.
Brayden (6th grade) and Karis (8th grade) went to their first middle school and first EVER dance! I gave them the option to go but seriously thought they wouldn't want to. Unfortunately I was wrong and they decided they wanted to go at the last minute. They were excited and mom was......not. But they had a good time, and said they didn't slow dance so all is well ha!
