Up to new heights...

This is what we woke up to out our kitchen window this morning....GORGEOUS!  When I see things like this, I just can't fathom that there are people that don't believe in the one true God!

His mercies are truly new every morning and the Lord reminded me when I saw this...

If you read yesterday's post when Lucy climbed from her little rocking chair to the night stand, soon after this morning we moved the chair to a different part of her room.  Well apparently, she is alot smarter than we are!  I walked in to this today...

Yep she climbed onto the twin bed in her room!

And then tried to get down head first...that's when I went to rescue her.

And Brayden apparently grew wings....

This afternoon I laid Lucy down for her nap and about 20 minutes later I heard a LARGE thud and ran in her room to check on her.  She was laying on this pink rug below her bed.  SHE HAD CLIMBED OUT OF HER BED!!!

Yes, it was on the lowest setting.  Yes, she was fine.  Yes, I was scared to death.  Yes, I then stripped her bed of the bumper pads.  NO...I hope she doesn't ever do that again.

Do I need to remind you she is ONLY 1 (like as of May 10th) so way too early to move her to a big girl bed.  Goodness gracious, she can't even walk yet (more than 5-7 steps at a time) but she can climb out of her bed!!!  Poor thing she is down to the bare bones in her bed now.  I did add a pillow for her so hopefully she won't use that to escape from jail!

Today was my last day of work so tomorrow is our first day of summer!  I am so excited about getting to do fun things with my kids.  Tomorrow morning we are doing girls day/boys day.  I am taking Lucy for her one year check-up/shots tomorrow morning and poor Karis she doesn't know it yet but she is getting her Kindergarten shots too.  I can NOT tell her until we get there or she will literally not sleep tonight.  Later she will be glad I didn't her time to analyze, worry, freak out, anticipate think about it.  Before she knows it she will have it behind her and can actually look forward to going to school in the Fall.  After that I will be taking the girls to do something fun...not sure what yet but I think shopping and ice cream are in our future!  And we are hitting the pool tomorrow...I need a tan and the kids are dying to go!

Let the summer begin!!!!

She is a climber and LOVES shoes!

This is where I found Lucy today...

And then grinned at me like "Maybe this smile will get me out of trouble!"  Well, it worked!

She then took it to the next step and climbed on her night stand...

To get to her shoe basket...

Then she proceeded to pull out every shoe in there and show it to me...

And she apparently liked this because she has done it several times since.  There is one problem...she can't get down.  So when she is ready to get down she starts hollering for me to come get her.  I am afraid she will keep me on my toes!

She is a shoe lover...just like her daddy!  Heehee!

Those goggles must have blurred his vision!

Whew...what a day!  I have just sat down for the day and realized it was 10:00!  It has been a wild and crazy, eventful day.  I started out this morning seeing all 3 of my children climbing up in Jay's lap begging him NOT to go to work.  Brayden said, "Why do you have to go to work?"  Karis said, "I wish you could be home more!"   They honestly don't realize how much Daddy IS home.  He works from home alot and we are blessed we get to see him as much as we do.  I know there are women out there whose husbands travel and I can only imagine how hard it is.  I am thankful for our situation right now.

I couldn't get my camera in time to get Lucy in the picture...she is on the move these days.  But it warmed my heart.

His face says it all.  He calls this his baseball shirt and when I told him what it said, he said, "No it doesn't mom!  It says, 'Big baseball players like me!'"  Haha

It seems the attitude in the picture above started his day off on the wrong foot.  He had THREE spankings by lunchtime!  The first one was for putting sanitizer in his sister's water (yes, she is fine), the second for saying "butt" multiple times even though he knows it is a "bad" word, and the third for while I was in the shower, he smashed crackers all over the upstairs floor and got into a cabinet he is not supposed to be in to and pulled out the birthday candles and cut them to pieces all over the floor.  UGH!  Sometimes he has such good days and then he has days like this.  He is ALL boy...and he tests the limits!

While all this was going on, Karis was in her own little sweet world coloring...

And Lucy was of course into whatever she could find.

And being pretty stinkin' sweet...

Until she found these and thought she had hit the jackpot...

Crayons for snack...

Until her sissy put her in her place.  I love their looks in this picture...Karis has a "momma" look and Lucy is looking at her like "What in the world are you saying?"

Brayden had an obsession with his goggles today.  I guess it was from swimming yesterday.  He even carried them with him to the grocery store and gymnastics tonight and I was so busy shopping I didn't even realize he was wearing them in the store...haha!

Watching "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" WITH his goggles on.  Hey...at least he will be prepared in case of a flood!

Lucy's new toy today...this tunnel!

I definitely have an gymnast in my first born....

...and it looks like my youngest may be following in her footsteps!  She attempted to climb and get up there with her sister for a long time today!  I am afraid it won't be long and I will probably find her on the top bunk!

Karis had gym tonight and Brayden and I did all the grocery shopping while Jay kept Lucy at home.  Then I had to clean out the refrigerator to fit all the groceries and I have just sat to blog and then hitting the bed!  I haven't watched IDOL yet so don't tell me who won...hope to watch it tomorrow.  I have one more day of work and then will be out for the summer!  Looking forward to lots of fun days with my babies!

Please pray for my momma, daddy and several other family members.  They are going on a mission trip to Guatemala tomorrow for a week. Pray for safety, health and that God would guide them in what He wants them to accomplish while there.  I will fill you in as I get information.  She might be updating her new blog soon too.  I will link it up when she does.

Lucy's 1st swim!

This was Lucy last year when she was dipped into the pool for the first time, but obviously there was no swimming goin' on.  You can last year's post and more pics HERE.  She was only 6 weeks old (she was fat and look at her hair! haha).

Yea check out the rolls on those thighs!  Adorable!

And this is Lucy's 1st official swim!!!!  We just opened the pool on Friday and it was still FREEZING!!!!  However we endured it anyway and Lucy liked it for the most part.  When we pulled up she started squealing like it was her bath.  I think the water was a bit shocking but she didn't even cry....yet.

Brayden decided to jump off the side and that scared her.  She wasn't sure what to think of that!

She really didn't cry much at all I just think these pics are cute....

After a while, I sat her on the edge and she sat there yelling in excitement for the longest time.  Jay got home a little late from work tonight so we went to the pool a few minutes before him so he could eat dinner.  When he drove up, she SQUEALED louder than I have ever heard her squeal and saying "DADA!!!! DADA!!!!" while clapping her hands yah!  It was the sweetest thing ever!  She is always glad to see him but not like this!

My girls...

She was excited about something here and was saying "yay!"

Love this one...

Brayden jumped in again...haha

This one is out of focus but I love it of him.   So sweet!

I did get a glimpse of what is to come this summer.  I am IN TROUBLE!!!  This girl is into everything!

After a while she realized she could lounge and looked like she was about to fall asleep.  She doesn't realize how good she has got it!

Haha love it!

They enjoyed jumping to dad!

Ok so a funny from the evening...Lucy's diaper was like REALLY full after swimming for a very short time.  After we were finished, I was taking her clothes off to put a real diaper on her and realized when I was rushing to get there, I had grabbed a pull-up instead of a swim diaper and it had NOT remained all in one piece.  I won't make that mistake again.  It was nasty...at least she was only wet and not poopy.  It could have gotten UGLY!
