Fun, relaxing Sunday

For some reason, we were all ready for church a whole hour early before we had to leave today.  So I took the kiddos outside to take some pics and to let them play before church.

Such a prissy pot!

Church was amazing this morning.  The worship was phenomenal as always and it was one of the best sermons I have heard our pastor Brian preach.  He is preaching through 1 Samuel and the Lord really taught me alot about jealousy harboring in my heart and how just an ounce of it can ruin you!

Our friend Brad and his wife Cherie rode their Harley to church and Brayden just had to sit/ride on it!

I let him drive (very slowly) down the parking lot with Brayden on it.  He was SOOO excited!  I hope he enjoyed it because I will probably never let him get on one again!!!

We went to lunch with some friends after church and then Mari-Morgan came home to play with us.  Of course, Brayden's idea of a fun afternoon included doing a little fishing.  I tell ya...the boy could fish all day and be one happy boy!

I love this one...I think he and the brim were talking to one another!  They speak their own language!

All the while, the girls played in the back of the truck WITH their purses of course.  Not too sure why they think they needed them, but apparently there was a purpose!

Then we made ice cream sundaes with lots of sprinkles and toppings!

While I was doing some cleaning, the girls were working hard on an art project.  When I went to see what they were doing, I found them writing LOVE LETTERS TO THEIR BOYFRIENDS (their words, not mine)!!!  Oh my...I am sooooo NOT ready for this!  MM was writing to a boy named Ethan from her school and Karis' "boyfriend" was Justin Beiber haha!
Disclaimer:  If you see Karis soon, do NOT mention this to her.  She got really embarrassed when I took  a pic and said, "Mom you're going to put that on facebook!!!"  I did NOT put it on facebook but I didn't say whether or not I would put it on the blog ha.  Just ssssshhhhhh!

These girls seriously can't get enough of each other!  What a fun Sunday!  Looking forward to a picnic with some friends tomorrow!

A day with the Anglins'...

Today we had some friends over for the day to enjoy the "country." Dave and Janet and company (4 kiddos) are moving to East Tennessee in just a month as church planters and we wanted to have them over before they left.  They have been friends of ours since we married and we were on staff with them for 3 years before we moved.   It was great to visit with them and have some adult conversation.  We grilled out, took all 7 kids fishing, played outside, rode bikes, jumped on the trampoline, and even practiced shooting a pistol (not the kids!).

The girls fished but didn't last as long as the boys.

Dave handlin' the crickets...

This is their youngest of 4, Gretta.  She is adorable and has the prettiest blue eyes!  She is a spitfire like Lucy (I guess the young ones have to learn to take up for themselves haha!).

Luke fishing...

Lily, age 4

My boys...

Some of the gang...

Luke's first catch...

Sweet!

The girls (Karis-6, Gretta-almost 3, Lucy-2, Lily-4)

Brayden's catch...

The boys and their fish after a day of fishing!

When the boys got home from fishing, they got out the pistol for practice shooting.  Dave was teaching Janet how to shoot it.  Watch out world...sweet little Janet's got a gun!!!

This picture is fuzzy but I had to include it because as I was taking the pic of the kids watching the shooting practice, Janet standing next to me shot her first shot and it scared me so bad my camera shook and I got this picture.  It was LOUD and I wasn't expecting it yet so my heart skipped a beat ha!

The kids sat with their ears covered for the majority of it!

Wow what a fun day!  The Anglins have been such a blessing to us and are a fun bunch!  The good thing about getting together with people that also have kids is that you don't have to worry that your kids are the distractions because theirs are the same way and they totally understand.  We were able to relax and just enjoy one another's company!  It was great!  We will miss them so much when they move!

Day at the park

Today is my last official day of "work," and only Trey was here so we packed up the car and headed to the park for the day.  With no agenda and nothin' but time, we stayed for hours and just enjoyed ourselves!

We swang...

Ran and played...

Scavenged the woods...

Climbed trees....

Brayden fished and fished and fished...

And I snapped and snapped and snapped!!!

We had us a little picnic lunch...

The spiky haired boys!

We rode trails on our bikes...

On the trail, it has these nifty little signs to do activities with the kids.  We did most of them and the kids got a kick out of them.  Here is an example....

They were acting like animals here..

Walking backwards...

Count your steps....37!

Shapes, colors, numbers, letters...ha!

We had a fabulous time at the park and the weather was great!

BUT as we were loading up in the car, Lucy started SCREAMING like she was really hurt.  She never screams like this.  I had to pull over and hold her for 20 minutes before she would stop.  She kept holding her mouth and I could not figure out what was wrong.  I have been thinking for days her meds weren't working for her ear infection last Sunday so took this as my opportunity to head on in to the doctor.  Her throat was red but negative on the strep test.  But BOTH ears were bad infected, so the meds she was on were NOT working and had gotten worse since Sunday.  So I gave her some Motrin and we headed to pick up new meds and home we went.

By the time we had gotten home and she had catnapped in the car, she was acting fine.  We headed out to the lake to ride the boat and for the boys to fish.

We walked down to the garden where we picked some snap peas and Karis' sunflower looked so pretty!

I guess it was a long day for some...
It is now officially summer!  WOOHOO!  Hoping Lulu gets to feeling better very soon and looking forward to a fun weekend with lots of friends, starting tomorrow!
