Sunshine!!!

Today I was determined to make it a better day!  The weather was gorgeous so we headed out to enjoy it!  Of course, my fingers were itching to take pics so the camera came along.  Brayden wanted to wear his new fishin' shirt even if it was a little warm for it.  He was so proud of it!

But first, the kids have been wanting to make sugar cookies so I decided we would cook our favorite Snickerdoodles.  You can get the recipe here.

I realized I made them this time last year and everyone has grown up so much.  These were my helpers last year (on October 6th...almost a year ago).

Axton and Lucy

Now almost a year later here is Axton and Lucy "helping" me...

Lucy is doing better but was still up in the night a little bit.  She no longer has fever but is still having bad diarrhea that is literally burning her bottom.   That (along with the fussiness of it) has been the worst of it today.  She still has a yucky nose but we can handle that!

We went on a nature walk, played on the playground and ran out lots of energy!

Great morning...hopefully it will continue to go up from here!

Oh and check out my moms blog here for her account of what happened a year ago today.  She lost a foster baby to SIDS during a nap.  It will make you count your blessings and maybe even shed a tear or two.  I did :(

Zaccheus

This one is going to be rather short...another long day with a fussy, clingy 16 month old.  UGH.

I started off the day tackling this because I didn't get it finished this weekend.  I must have been busy wiping a snotty nose, going to the 3rd, 4th or 5th doc appointment or dishing out meds.

Lucy took a whopping 1 hour nap (divided) today folks...usually she sleeps three.  Tired. Momma.  So this afternoon I had to get out a little bit before I went crazy and it was GORGEOUS outside (70's and sunny this afternoon).  We went for a walk and Karis decided to climb a tree.  She was being brave.  I miss out on opportunities to take pics of my K girl so I snapped away.

In the mean time, I snapped one of Lucy and realized today wasn't a good day for pics of her.  This indicative of what I saw all day....

K got waaay up there!  In fact when she got up there she saw Jay coming down the street and said she wanted to wait on him to come through and see if he spotted her in the tree.  (It reminded me of that scene in Sound of Music when the kids were all in the trees when their father was coming home).

When Jay and B pulled up, Brayden called her "Zaccheus" because she looked like Zaccheus in the tree looking for Jesus.  Ironically, me singing the song Zaccheus was one of the two things that made Lucy completely happy today (and her feeding me goldfish...I ate more than my share today that I wanted to puke!  But it kept her from fussing so I opened up!)

Tonight Karis went with us to B's soccer practice (couldn't go to gym because her arm was pretty tore up from bike accident).  We were even a little cold outside!  I loved it.  Then we went and ate at a local place for dinner where we had some fried pickles...yummy!  They were so good!  We lasted about as long as Lucy would let us and then screamed all the way home.  We couldn't get the kids bathed and in bed fast enough tonight.  I am now headed there myself....praying for a full night's sleep tonight!

And the saga continues....

This is almost getting comical...seriously.

This morning Lucy woke up and still had fever so she and I stayed home from church.  When her fever came down, she was happi-er but was still very clingy and wanted in my lap most of the day.  But as the day went on, she got worse and worse and soon wasn't playing at all and fussy even when I held her.  Even WITH motrin, she still had over 101 temp!!!  This is what she looked like most of the day, tears and all...

In the mean time, Lolli calls me to tell me that Karis had had a bike accident and had HUGE scrapes, bruises and big boo-boos but luckily didn't need to go to a doctor or hospital.  Thank you Jesus!

Lucy had a poopy and brought me this today...

I managed to snap a few after her bath today when she was feeling ok...

I soon realized the antibiotic she was on wasn't working and this has happened with this particular one once before.  So I called the minor med we went to last night and they wouldn't change her antibiotic, but told me to go to the ER.  SOOOO frustrating! So I took her to a different minor med here in town because they were about to close and I knew if I didn't get her antibiotic changed tonight, it would be a long night!!!  We waited for a while and then she had 2 rounds of diarrhea that soaked her clothes.  The only set of clothes I had was a summer outfit and it is almost COLD here today.  Oh well...it had to do.

When we finally saw the doctor she took Lucy's blood and then checked her out.  She said she had bad ears and a viral infection and sent us out with THREE more prescriptions!!!  I headed over to the only pharmacy open (across town) and was told it would be another 1.5 hours before it was finished.  So I wasted some time at Target, got back to Walgreens and found out my insurance company paid very little and the new antibiotic was going to cost me $76!!! And that was just one out of the three.  So after I puked in my mouth a little and/or had a heart attack, I paid it and headed out the door.  THEN I get to the car and realized they only filled 2 out of the 3 prescriptions.  So I went BACK in and had to wait for them to fill the last one.  See all the EIGHT prescriptions we have had filled in 24 hours?!
Not all are even pictured here.

I mean does it ever end???  Maybe tomorrow is the day...the day everyone starts to get back to normal and I hope to not see a doctor or any medicines for a long time!!!  We are praying for some good rest tonight!!!
