On Christmas Eve Eve, we headed east to Jay's families' house to spend a few days with them before Christmas. We always look forward to getting away with them and it is never long enough. The kids were so excited!
We met them at church and Jay's mom sang beautifully as she always does. We ate lunch at the old Shiloh Ridge and the food was INCREDIBLE...can't wait to go back. Then we came back to the house and hung out for the night and watched The Christmas Story as a family.
Hangin' out with Pop-Pop...
Christmas Eve morning before heading over to Grandmother's house...
But Nonnie went ahead and let the kids open up their stockings to hold them over until that night when we opened gifts. They weren't excited can you tell?!
My sweet family :)
Sweet snuggles watching us make candy!
While someone else took a nap hehe...
The two candy queens...
Jay's mom and Grandmother Lucy...
Look at all this candy we made...YUM! And this was only about a quarter of what Grandmother had already made!
Then it was "GO" time...the kids were so pumped!
I wish he would show just a little bit of excitement...this is the first of many "open mouth" shot ha!
Then Karis got her gift from Nonnie and Pop-Pop and it couldn't be wrapped like Lucy and Braydens. So she had to close her eyes and we had to bring it in.
Nonnie had this makeup desk built from a friend and it lights up and everything. It was PERFECT for her! I loved seeing her reaction!
She wrote this sweet note on the back and it brought tears to my eyes!
The adults all drew names at Thanksgiving so then we exchanged gifts. Grandmother gave Pop-Pop a gift certificate...
Nonnie gave Grandmother a necklace and a beautiful sweater....
I gave Nonnie some black boots and a canvas of the kids...
Kevin gave Jay a grill set...
Pinto got Aunt Jesse a gift card...
Jay gave Pinto some new pjs and a snapfish book of our family...
Future gymnast?!
Lucy was inseparable from her new baby Nonnie gave her....
We ended up coming home Christmas Eve night so we could be home for Christmas morning. We had a great time!
