Today is Brayden's real birthday, although we aren't technically celebrating until Saturday. But we wanted to go ahead and give him his present from us so it would seem like a special day for him. He woke up EX-CIT-ED to say the least! He woke up begging to "open" his present, so Jay went and put it up outside and surprised him. He was shocked at first, but had so much fun playing with Jay.
Lucy started showing signs of another ear infection yesterday so this morning I made her an appointment for 11:00. She did have a mild one again (I caught it early) so he gave us some medicine and off we went to meet Jay for lunch.
Earlier this week Brayden said he wanted to go to the zoo for his birthday. So we had planned on that all week until the day before. I asked him again where he wanted to go for his birthday. He said he didn't want to go to the zoo anymore so I said well let's pick a special place to go eat lunch. "How about Chuck E. Cheese? (even though we hate that place)" He said, "Na." "How about Pizza Hut???" "Na." "How about the place where they cook in front of you???" "YEAAAA!" He loves Kyoto (and so do we so we were jumping up and down on the inside!). Of course we would choose Kyoto over Chuck E. Cheese anyday!!!! But for Brayden, it isn't just the novelty of them cooking in front of you, he really does LOVE the food.
He even ate his rice with his chopsticks!!!
So did Karis!
Lucy just looked cute with them ha!
Sorry for the quality of pics below but my good camera's battery died and so I had to take these with my phone ugh. We told them it was Brayden's birthday so they came out with drums and other instruments, a big birthday hat and an ice cream sundae for him. They sang to him and he pretty much hid his face in embarrassment! But later he (and I) enjoyed his ice cream!
Tonight we had VBS and they brought his snack out with 5 candles on it and sang happy birthday to him. I didn't see it (shucks) but I was told he was again embarrassed. He does NOT like special attention (he is like his mom and his dad here). But I am thankful they made it a special day for him. :) Then he had his best friends Ethan and Eli over to spend the night. What a fun day!!!
Happy 5th Birthday Brayden! We love you more than you'll ever know! Love, Mom and Dad, Karis and Lucy
