After we finished school today, we headed to do something none of us were looking forward to...FLU SHOTS yuck! We haven't ever really gotten them before because Lucy and Brayden are both allergic to eggs and we just kinda took a chance but although it was never confirmed, Lucy and Brayden had it last year. We knew with our changes coming up, getting the flu shot this year was a must for us. So we told the kids this morning about it and had the pep talk to be "brave" but told them that we would go do something fun afterwards. They all had pretty good attitudes about it.
First, Jay and I went to a family clinic to get ours and they got to watch (so we HAD to be brave ha!). Then lunch at Kublai Khan...
Then we went to their doctors office to get theirs done. Karis and Brayden did great with no tears at all and Lucy shed a few (loud ones) but it was over before she knew it. She was trying so hard not to cry and kept saying, "Mom I am not too sure about this!" But as soon as she saw the needle the waterworks started and I had a death grip around my neck ha!
The boys went to see Planes at an earlier time so the girls and I walked around the mall for a while before ours started. The girls love going in Claires!
Then we walked around in the pet store to look at the animals and this one TOTALLY grosses me out...yuck!
Although these guys are pretty cute!
Karis got to petting this cat and it really was taking a liking to her. It was acting like it wanted out to get to her and she got so sad she couldn't hold it that she got teary eyed! She is the only one NOT allergic to animals in our family and she really wants one but it is not an option for us. When she grows up she can have her own which she has reminded us she will. :)
Then the girls headed over to our movie to see 1D movie and these two were pumped!
While out today, Brayden and Jay saw some paracord (sp?) bracelets for sale at Bass Pro so they decided to get some rope and make some themselves. Karis of course was all about it too. Jay watched a YouTube video on how to make them and then they spent the evening perfecting their bracelets. Jay gets the "cool daddy award!"
This is Karis' finished creation...she did so good!
Great day to spend with family!
Brave kids!!! So happy you all had a great family time.
